“Whoreticulture is concerned with a non-reproductivity driven model of feminized nature: nature as mother vs. nature as whore.” - Artist Rita Rui Ting Wang
Join us for an evocative event that promises to challenge conventions, titillate your senses and provoke rich conversation, all in support of a vital organization.
Here’s what you can look forward to:
Art Installation: Take part in The Whoreticulture Archive through an immersive art installation and living body of research by Rita Rui Ting Wang.
Bites & Sips: Theme-inspired, curated food by Kate Ray & drinks designed around a Kings Distillery sponsorship, to please your taste buds. Drinks and food included in ticket prices.
Music & Entertainment: Enjoy the beats of DJ A²Z, the comedic flair of Emcee Carrie Hawks, personalized Tarot readings, and an exclusive preview of an exciting new live performance.
Live Auction: Participate in our enticing live auction of unique items and experiences.
Community: Embed and entwine yourself in The School of Making Thinking’s deep network of brilliant artists and thinkers.
"Field Work" Experiments: It wouldn’t be SMT without a little dose of social connectivity. Invitations to unlock your own thinking and making will propagate the space and the evening.
Notes on Attire: We invite you to bring an embodied proposal of what Whoreticulture inspires for you in the form of an outfit. “[W]hy [does] the homophone “whoreticulture” evoke both resonance and discomfort[?]” - Rita Rui Ting Wang . Archival inspiration below, should you need it...
